Privacy Policy
Last updated: 27 June 2026
We are a small family studio, and we treat your personal data the way we would want ours treated: carefully, and only when there is a good reason. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the rights you have under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1.Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is Tella Terra, a micro-entreprise registered in France and run by Sonia and Mathieu. If you have any question about your data or want to exercise your rights, write to us at contact@tellaterra.com.
Business registration: micro-entreprise registered in France, SIREN [add your SIREN number].
2.What we collect
We only collect what we need:
- When you join our newsletter: your email address, and sometimes your first name.
- When you buy something: the details needed to complete and support your order, such as your name, email, country, and proof of purchase. Payment card details are handled by our payment partner and are not stored by us.
- When you contact us or leave feedback: your email and whatever you choose to tell us.
- Automatically, when you visit: basic technical data such as your browser type, approximate location, and pages viewed, used to keep the site secure and working.
3.Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To send our newsletter and free gifts that you asked for. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- To process orders, deliver products, and provide support. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
- To answer your messages. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in helping you, or taking steps at your request.
- To keep the site secure, prevent fraud, and understand in general terms how the site is used. Legal basis: our legitimate interests.
- To meet legal and tax obligations. Legal basis: compliance with a legal obligation.
4.Newsletter and email
We send our newsletter using MailerLite. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email, or by writing to us. When you unsubscribe, we stop sending you marketing email.
5.Payments
Purchases of our digital products are processed by Gumroad, our Merchant of Record, and in some cases by other checkout providers. These partners collect and process the payment information needed to complete your purchase and to handle invoicing and sales tax. We receive confirmation of your order and the information we need to support it, but we do not see or store your full card details. Gumroad's privacy notice is available at gumroad.com/privacy.
6.Cookies and similar technologies
We keep cookies to a minimum. Some are needed for the site to work and to keep it secure. Our pages may also load third-party services, such as our shop and checkout providers and Google Fonts, which can set their own cookies when you use those features. You can control or block cookies through your browser settings; blocking some of them may affect how parts of the site work.
7.Who we share data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run Tella Terra, and only as far as they need it. These include:
- Gumroad, for payments, invoicing, and tax (Merchant of Record).
- Our newsletter provider (MailerLite) and the automation tool that connects our purchase and email systems.
- Our website host and infrastructure provider (Cloudflare).
- Our email provider.
- Print, shop, and marketplace partners, where you buy a printed book or gift from them.
We may also share data where the law requires it, or to protect our rights.
8.International transfers
Some of our providers are based outside the European Economic Area, or process data there. When your data is transferred outside the EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as an adequacy decision or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses, so that your data stays protected.
9.How long we keep it
We keep your data only as long as we need it for the purpose we collected it. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove it. Order and tax records are kept for as long as the law requires us to keep them. After that, we delete or anonymise the data.
10.Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask us to:
- see the personal data we hold about you (access);
- correct it if it is wrong (rectification);
- delete it (erasure);
- restrict or object to how we use it;
- receive it in a portable format; and
- withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent.
To use any of these rights, email contact@tellaterra.com. We will respond within the time the law allows. If you believe we have not handled your data properly, you can complain to the French data protection authority, the CNIL, at cnil.fr.
11.Children
Our books are made for toddlers, but our website and shop are meant for adults who buy and read with them. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has given us their data, contact us and we will remove it.
12.Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The version shown here, with its "last updated" date, is the current one. If we make an important change, we will do our best to let subscribers know.
13.Contact
For anything about your privacy or this policy, write to contact@tellaterra.com.
